Mission to Mexico Challenge!

From 2003-2009, I made six trips to Mexico. I served with Camps International and with David and Karen Caldwell, missionary friends who are developing youth camps for local churches located in Mexico and in other countries. I believe the work being done here is very worth while and I would like to see it continue. I would also like to be able to continue my trips there in the future. So far, I have financed all my trips to Mexico for this purpose almost entirely myself (special thanks to those who have supported me so far!) While I don't like asking for money, I am happy to say that there are more ways to be involved than just making a donation.

The length of most of my trips have been about 3 1/2 weeks (around 24 days). I was very caeful to keep my expenses to a minimum. Camps International leadership are frugal too... The Board of Directors for Camps International pay for the necessary overhead decisions they make themselves, making it possible for donations given to their missionaries to be free of mission-board administrative fees. This has allowed me to stay in Mexico for longer periods and frees money and resources for mission work rather than living expenses. So the challenge is this: Any additional moneys I can raise above my baseline expenses will be applied twoard 2 goals. Since a good bulk of my expenses are just getting myself there, additional funds can be split between the cost of extending my stay, and directly towards Camps International and meeting their financial needs.

Since a good bulk of my expenses are just getting myself there, extending my stay would be the most cost effective.

UPDATE: I married Becky in 2009 and with several children, I have not made any further trips to Mexico. However, as of May 2022, I have set a goal of making another trip to Mexico within 20 years. While my next trip may be sooner than that, it won't be until my kids are old enough to travel and work while there. This will, of course, make the trips considerably more expensive. However, any financial support I receive now will either be put towards a future trip or sent to David Caldwell and Camps International.

You can make a donation directly at the links to Camps International provided above.
